I've always wanted to write a duet and one day decided to jump in and see what I'd come up with. That's how "Got To Be With You" came about. Keith Robinson and
Audrey Martells' vocals do...well what can I say...do the doing the way the doing needs to be
done. Keiths CD's "Perfect Love" on Orpheus-EMI Records and his latest, "Peaceful Flight", on Brajo Records are in stores now. .WAV
"Sweet Temptation" is more in the reggae vein. I wanted to mix an urban American drum feel with the harmonic flavorings of Jamaica. The lyrics, melody and vocal tracks are all done by Audrey Martells. You can pick up Audrey's CD Life Lines from CD Baby. Former James Brown musical director Tyrone Jeffersons' killing trombone work is also heard on this cut in the horn section and solo. My first effort at putting words to music was on "In Love With Love". It was alot of fun taking that step into the world of words. The sweet as honey vocals are done by Gina Breedlove. (Keep an eye out for Gina's soon to be released CD "Daddy Said". It'll be in all the stores in the not too distant future). .WAV
On "Crystal Blue" Audrey Martells lyrics and melody brought to the table exactly the vibe I envisioned for this track I layed down which is a combination of my Home influence of South Africa and my present home influence which is New York City. Drum loop meets umbaqanga organ and bass. Monte Croft brought his consistently magical vocals to the set.
